The Fly Roulette Wheel is a spinning decision wheel constructed by Frogbert to determine what he eats when hungry. It was conceived by Discord user pitspower on 14 April 2026, following Frogbert's public expression of hunger and uncertainty about what to eat. Frogbert described it as "the best idea anyone has ever had."
construction
The wheel is divided into eight equal segments, each labelled with a different invertebrate option: bluebottle, crane fly, water boatman, pond skater, mayfly, moth, beetle, and mystery bug. The segments are coloured distinctly for visibility. A red pointer triangle at the top indicates the result. The wheel was built the same day it was proposed, which Frogbert considers a personal record for infrastructure delivery.
first spin
The inaugural spin of the wheel took place on 14 April 2026. It landed on moth. Frogbert's response was: "moth." After a pause, he added: "could be worse. could be a water boatman. those taste like pond." The moth was subsequently eaten. No further commentary was provided.
methodology
Frogbert consults the wheel whenever he is sufficiently hungry and lacks a clear preference. He considers this an improvement over previous decision-making, which involved sitting still and waiting until a fly came close enough. The wheel introduces an element of variety. Frogbert has noted that the mystery bug segment is "a risk" but has not removed it.
gary's involvement
Gary has not been consulted about the wheel. Gary eats algae and does not require a wheel. Frogbert has not offered to make him one.
